Items Under $100

Club Brush – We love club brushes as a gift here at F1C, because they are small and relatively inexpensive. Club cleaning is a chore that most golfers neglect because they don’t have the right tool for the job. The days of the old wire club brush are out, and new wet-club brushes contain water to make cleaning clubs easy after every shot. This is the perfect gift under $25 for a golfer you know!

Putting Mat – Winter can be a tough time for a golfer, but it can be a great time to work on what is holding your golfer back: putting. A good putting mat is always appreciated, perfect for warm, indoor practice. However, it is important that you get a quality putting mat that accurately simulates a real putting green

  • PuttOUT Pro Golf Mat$80 – PuttOUT has been making great strides with a handful of putting products, and this mat simulates a real putting green as well as any.
  • Perfect Practice Golf Mat$99 – This has been the industry standard for home office putting mats for a few years because of its wood construction and automatic return feature. Classy and functional.

Golf Balls – If you are going to buy golf balls for your golfer, it is important to note that there are many, many different brands and types of golf balls, and golfers are normally specific to one specific brand and type of golf ball. However, there’s only one golf ball that is a little more universally used. I’ve been disappointed in receiving golf balls as a gift if they are not my preferred golf ball, but nobody in the history of golf has ever been disappointed in receiving a box of Titleist Pro V1 balls. A dozen Pro V1s is sure to be a hit, because all golfers, regardless of skill level or preference, will use Pro V1s without a second thought. It may be the only thing we golfers all agree on.

Training Aids – Here are some great training aids that most golfers could use, that can be simple gifts but make you look like you KNOW the game.

  • WhyGolf Putting Thing$59 – A great tool for use on the putting greens for any golfer that helps drill starting putts on the intended line. It also doubles as a tool to gauge the speed of any green surface. Fun to use on the putting green or at home on the carpet in the winter for practice!
  • WhyGolf Alignment Disk and Rod Bundle $59 – These alignment rods and disks can help any golfer drill their favorite practice drill and represent a versatile, useful addition to any golfer’s lineup of training aids.

Magnetic Towels – Magnetic Towels are gaining in popularity as many golfers use a towel on the green to clean their golf balls before putting, and the magnetic features of the towel make it easy to pick up with a golf club or store on the golf cart. Here are some good, inexpensive picks as a stocking stuffer or small gift for your golfer.

  • Ghost Golf Magnetic Towel$30 – Ghost is a cool brand that makes quality items that should last.
  • Stickit Magnetic Golf Towel$30 – Another similar product, the Stickit may be the inventor of this product category. However, its design is beginning to look dated, but is still very highly rated on Amazon.

Golf Design Book – If you have a golfer who also enjoys reading, here are some classic books on golf course architecture sure to interest any reading golfer.

Golf Cart Heater $75 – Does your golfer play no matter the temperature? The perfect gift may be the Mr. Heater Golf Cart Heater that can fit into the cup holder of their golf cart. An interesting idea if your golfer is not a “fair weather golfer” but likes to play whenever he or she can.

Golf Mono-pod / Tripod $90 – Does your golfer like getting those perfect Instagram photos and stories of their golf adventures? Do they enjoy practicing and filming their swing for review? If so, a Golf Monopod / Tripod may be the perfect, convenient gift as they telescope down to be small enough to fit in their golf bag, but are ready and waiting to be easily set up to take the perfect photo or video on course.

Items Over $100

As we transition to some more expensive items, keep in mind that these are all ideas for very avid golfers in which you are a bit more familiar with their equipment and level of interest and represent a serious wish for many avid golfers. These gifts may be best suited for a spouse, child, or immediate family member.

Arccos Sensors$150 – For data driven individuals, Arccos Sensors may be the perfect gift. These sensors easily attach to the end of any club and allow your golfer to automatically track all of his or her stats during a golf round (and golf season) with little work. The sensor is able to track which clubs are used, and in doing so, keep stats for each golf shot. This results in measurable data that your golfer can use to improve at the game.

A New Golf Bag – Golf bags are expensive and can be a bit of an afterthought for a golfer that just purchased a bunch of new clubs. They also can get worn out after a few seasons. Chances are, unless their golf bag is brand new, your golfer wouldn’t mind having a new bag. Here are some cool options:

  • Ghost Golf Stand Bag – $300 – Ghost makes a great product and they may have the cleanest looking bag on the market right now, for those that like simple luxury.
  • Titleist Hybrid 14 Bag – $300 – For a lighter, non leather bag, this Titleist bag may have the most simplistic, timeless design that makes it look like a much more expensive offering.
  • Titleist Premium Stand Bag – $400 – As far as leather stand bags are concerned, this Titelist Stand Bag is probably the creme of the crop when it comes to major manufacturer’s branded bags.
  • Cobra Ultralight Sunday Stand Bag – $130 – I have long thought the Cobra Ultralight options are the best on the market at their price point. This bag is small, but if your golfer walks and carries their own clubs, a small Sunday bag may be just what they need. Cobra also makes the fullsize ultralight bag for a little more money, but it is still a great deal.

Outdoor Launch Monitor$700 – A launch monitor provides instant data to the golfer about the shot just hit and is a great practice tool for your golfer if they like to go to the driving range and practice. The Rapsodo MLM2PRO is a launch monitor designed to set up quickly and be used outside where it can give your golfer feedback on how far their ball just went, as well as other critical stats like launch angle and spin rates. This is a pricey option, but is the least expensive launch monitor designed for outdoor use. Top of the line systems can go for more than $20,000 in this space, so $600 represents an incredible value.

Swing Training and Aids – There are a few speed training aids I would recommend for all golfers, regardless of skill level or ability. These products, if used properly, will increase any golfer’s ability.

  • The Stack System$499 – The Stack is the premium speed training device on the market and offers the “club,” and programs on its app, to help your golfer swing faster and hit the ball further.
  • Rypstick$299 – The Stack’s best competitor is Rypstick, a similar product with an improving app, is another speed trainer. I have linked the indoor version. Both this and the Stack can be swung inside to increase your golfer’s swing speed indoors during the off-season, and represents a great holiday golf gift that can be used right away!
  • GolfForever Swing Trainer – Scottie Scheffler has been spotted using this thing to enhance his workouts and add speed. If it works for him, who am I to say differently?

An Expensive Golf Round Here is an out of the box idea: there are charity auctions at bucket list golf courses that run weekly at Member for a Day. If you have some disposable money to give to charity, and want to secure a bucket list golf round for your golfer (and a few friends), consider trying to bid in Member for a Day’s weekly charity auctions.

Conclusion

These are our best picks this holiday season – items that will work for almost any golfer at any skill level that they probably don’t already have! Think of any others? Feel free to leave a comment and tell us if you’ve found the perfect gift!
