If you are anything like me, the sound of golf shoes tumbling around in your trunk for eight months out of the year is how you know its golf season. I recently came across the MXWL Golf Organizer Bag, which promises to provide more organization to my many golf accessories and figured I would give it a try. In short, this product brings a nice convenience that I did not realize I was missing. Turns out, there are better options out there than having my shoes tumble around my trunk.
First Impressions
The MXWL golf organizer bag arrives like you would suspect a duffel-style bag would, compressed and wrapped in plastic. Upon opening up the packaging, you will find some dividers that attach with velcro strips and some cardboard inserts. I’m never going to claim to be the smartest guy out there, but when I found these inserts with no instructions on how to attach the dividers to the bag, or how to place the cardboard inserts, I was puzzled. After about twenty minutes of “how hard can this be?,” I gave up and went back to the seller’s website. I eventually found the instructions as a photo about three pictures into photos of the product. Once I was able to find the photo, setup was a complete breeze. All this to say, shipping a simple printout of instructions with the product could easily resolve any such issues in the future.

The bag is made of a nice polyester material that seems durable enough to handle any reasonable situation. The current choices of color are blue or black, and the one I am reviewing is in blue, which looks great. If you put all the dividers in the bag, you will have five segmented compartments of varying sizes. The absolute best part of this setup is that you can add or remove the dividers as you see fit. Whether you use this bag for travel, a trunk organizer, or something in between is going to greatly influence which dividers you need in the bag. It is good to see a product not take a “one size fits all” approach, but rather, give the ability to the user to adjust the product based on need. For me, the divider down the middle creating two large segmented compartments is what worked best.
The shoe compartment is awesome! It comes with an optional divider as well. With the divider attached, it will hold two pairs of men’s shoes, up to a size 13. I honestly didn’t believe it, but, as someone who wears a size 12, I can that both pairs of my shoes fit with room to spare. The shoe compartment comes with two vented holes, because we all know sealing freshly worn golf shoes into a bag would not be the best choice.
The cardboard inserts that slot into the sides of the bag give it some structure to where you could place things on top of the bag without the worry of damaging the things inside. Again, you can also elect to not place the cardboard inserts into the bag, which will give it a smaller profile. This is another good example of this product giving the user much-needed versatility. There are also mesh pockets on the top of the interior of the bag, two mesh holders on one side for water bottles or similar shaped items, and a side pouch on the other side for extra storage. There are handles on the side of the bag allowing you to carry it similar to how you would carry a cooler. The bag also has a detachable shoulder strap. It would be nice if the bag had a handle on top to allow you to carry it in one hand much like you would a gym bag, but in no way is this a fatal flaw.

Why the MXWL Bag is Worth It
You might be asking yourself if it’s worth shelling out the extra money for this product when you could just throw your stuff in a gym bag or in your trunk, and that is a fair question. I do believe this product is worth spending the extra money on because it is going to give you more than you will get from other bags. First, I felt like my stuff was safe inside this bag. I have launch monitor that I like to take to the range with me from time to time. However, taking it to the range in the past had its difficulties. It required me to either put the monitor back in its box (which is essentially a giant shoe box), and place the box face down in the floor of the car and run the risk of damaging the product, or try to find some other sort of bag to take it in that did little to keep it safe. With the MXWL bag, I easily fit the launch monitor on one side of the divider, and a change of clothes on the other. My launch monitor was safe in the bag with the extra support and padding and was super simple to transport to and from the course or driving range.

For me, this is how the MXWL bag was most useful. If that isn’t the case for you, that’s fine. It is easy to change the bag to your specifications, which is what makes the product great. As you can see in the manufacturer’s photos, there are examples of all types of golf stuff such as tees, balls, gloves, hats, towels, Bluetooth Speakers, and hand warmers being organized in various sections with the dividers.

Personally, I keep most of my stuff like that organized in my golf bag, but I also have a larger golf bag and typically ride in a golf cart when I play. However, if you’re someone who has a smaller golf bag or maybe you want to walk and just want to drop the weight of your golf bag down, the MXWL bag gives you the versatility to tackle those things just as easily as it allows me to take my launch monitor and change of clothes. You also can leave the MXWL bag in the trunk of your car as an organizer for extra golf supplies or take it in your golf cart with you as it fits in most golf cart baskets with ease. It is also great coming to and from work or the gym to the golf course, as you can bring a complete change of clothes and shoes with you all in one bag. I travel for a weekend of golf sometimes, and I was able to pack my launch monitor, two full golf outfits (pants, socks, shirts, hats, and belts), snacks, two pairs of shoes, two sleeves of balls, and I still had empty space in the side pocket and side meshing. I know that is not something I could get out of my typical gym bag.

A Great Value
There are other “golf-duffel bags” on the market that have similarities to this product, such as offering extra padding and various compartments with a dedicated place for shoes, but, at the time of writing this, I have not seen any other product with the divider system that you can change as you see fit. At the time of this post, the MXWL bag retails for around $70.00 USD. Other bags that are similar to the MXWL seem to range from $100.00-$400.00 so there is no question that this product is great value for what it offers.
Summary
The MXWL bag is a bag that is going to give you convenience and organization for a great price. Where I previously had golf shoes tumbling around in my trunk, I now have a stylish bag that allows me to store my shoes and transport things to and from the golf course with ease. When it warms up a little, and I am taking my first weekend golf trip, the MXWL bag will be a great addition in the trunk.
